Flexible benefits has been part of STORM since our beginnings in 2005. Originally a flexible reimbursement system, we moved to a benefits marketplace model in 2013. This allows employees to convert pre-approved benefits into flexpoints. Employees can then use these points to buy products and services from our online Benefits Store.

Known as STORM Flex, our flexible benefits platform now services some of the Philippines' top companies, including Nestle, Sun Life, and just recently, the JG Summit group – to name a few. Our Benefits Store has expanded, offering more than 10,000 products and services across 13 categories. We continuously improve our system in order to deliver benefits made better, drawing insight from our clients’ program design and platform usage.

Data gathered from our clients in 2016 revealed important trends in our local benefits landscape. One of our key findings was that millennials enrolled the most benefits in STORM Flex, because traditional benefits packages are more suited for older generations. A study of the top-selling categories and items also showed that the benefits employees wanted were not often the ones traditionally given to them. This only highlights the need for companies to offer benefits that go beyond the one-size-fits-all package.
