Manila, Philippines STORM Technologies (STORM), the leading benefits technology firm in the Philippines, will represent the country at the Echelon Asia Summit in Singapore after being named Judges’ Choice at the recently concluded Echelon TOP 100 Philippine Qualifiers. This recognition follows STORM’s win during the Slingshot ASEAN Summit last year where the HR tech firm will go on to compete at a global startup competition.

“We are honored to have another opportunity to represent the country and showcase how competitive the startup ecosystem is in the Philippines,” said Cindy Burdette, STORM Head of B2B Sales and Growth. “The continued recognition of STORM is also a testament to the uniqueness of our platform, the growth potential of our business model, and the strong need for innovative solutions in the workplace to improve employee lives.”

Echelon Asia Summit is an annual, multi-day technology and business conference where over 5,000 industry leaders, startups and investors gather to share insights, build connections, and find talent and funding opportunities. The Summit features the TOP 100 pitch competition, where Asia Pacific’s most promising tech startups will vie for prizes worth up to US$100,000.

Over 100 startups entered the local qualifiers, and only 14 were shortlisted to pitch to a panel of judges comprised of venture capitalists and tech innovators. During the pitch, STORM highlighted how they redesign the benefits experience for employers and employees by converting benefits and incentives into points. These points can then be redeemed on its online marketplace to potentially improve attraction, retention and engagement in the workplace. Its proprietary platform, unique business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) marketplace model, traction and growth plans eventually led STORM to claim the Judge’s Choice category.

“We are very excited to participate in a regional competition such as TOP 100 for the exposure and the potential business opportunities it brings, especially with our plans of expanding beyond the country,” concluded Burdette.

The HR tech firm has over 100,000 employee-users on its platform, and is looking to expand in other countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and China.
