HR tech firm STORM is the Philippine representative to the Startup World Cup

Human resource benefits tech firm STORM Technologies will represent the Philippines in the Startup World Cup 2018 after winning the regional competition at the Slingshot ASEAN Startup and Innovation Summit organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Pasay City.

Slated to be held in May 11, 2018 in San Francisco, California, the Startup World Cup is a global conference and competition organized by Fenox Venture Capital, that brings together top startups, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and world-class tech CEOs.

STORM will compete with 20 other startups from around the world for a chance to win a $1-million investment.

STORM helps organizations provide innovative benefits solutions through its platform. It beat 10 other local startups from the financial technology and healthcare space, among others, last Friday at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

Founded four years ago, Storm claims it now serves over 100,000 employees and services clients from diverse industries including business process outsourcing, insurance, consumer goods, and manufacturing, among others.

The HR tech firm received $4.5 million in its first round of funding in 2014 led by Xurpas, a local-listed consumer technology company cited recently as top tech acquirer in Southeast Asia by CB Insights.
